Neighbor Damaged His Car! #CaughtOnBlackVue

Dash cams help you capture accidents, hit & runs and many other unexpected incidents on the road. But sometimes they also capture something you didn’t see coming – at least, not from your neighbor!

Car Keyed Twice

BlackVue user Kelvin sent us the footage his Blackvue DR750S-2CH dash cam (newer DR750X-2CH model can be purchased here) captured back in February, after dusk. Kelvin’s car, parked on the side of the road was suddenly approached by a man in a baseball cap. Although we can’t see exactly what the man is doing, we can clearly hear it – a long, screechy sound indicating that a sharp object is being dragged against the car. BlackVue dash cams record audio – it can be turned off, but by default, the sound is recorded. This is how we know the incident happened not once, but twice – as it can be heard in the video.

Unexpected Culprit

As soon as Kelvin noticed the damage, he checked the footage on his BlackVue dash cam and recognized his neighbor! The footage was then forwarded to the police, who then confronted the neighbor. He did not deny it was him captured on the video. The damages were estimated at $1,800 and the BlackVue user is currently waiting for the court to proceed with the charges against the man.

It’s always good to be prepared for every situation – thanks to the BlackVue X Series dash cams native Parking Mode you can be sure your car is monitored even when you’re away.
