Switching SIM Cards or Carriers

Replacing or switching your SIM? The dashcam retains your old network configuration, so a fresh setup is required.

Steps

1. Power off the camera, insert the new Nano SIM into the LTE module, and secure the cover.
2. Power on, connect via the BlackVue App, and go to Cloud connection settings > SIM card activation.
3. Select your new carrier from the list (APN auto-fills) or manually enter the APN values for custom carriers, then tap Done.

Common cases from our support line

• Standard phone SIMs often fail — make sure your SIM is on an active Data-Only, Tablet, or IoT plan.
• If using virtual network providers, auto-fill may not work; you must manually enter their specific APN details.
• Same carrier, new card: swapping to a new SIM with the same provider still requires re-running the SIM activation steps in the app.
