The moral of today’s story is… being cautious pays off!

BlackVue user Ulrik, who decided to equip his car with two BlackVue dashcams (you can purchase the successor to the models he has – DR750X-2CH – here) for a 360 degree view of his surroundings.

That night he was on his way out of a local grocery store’s parking lot. The driver of the oncoming car didn’t notice that Ulrik had stopped (wary of the oncoming BMW) and side-swept his vehicle. According to Ulrik she was totally shocked – she was checking the road ahead of her and when she noticed Ulrik’s car not moving, it was too late and the made contact.

The BlackVue user informed us that while he hadn’t heard from the insurance company yet, the damages’ repair is most likely going to cost around $2,500. Without his 4-channel dashcam setup, which captured the sides of his car as well as the front and back, it would be hard to prove Ulrik wasn’t at fault as well. In the footage it can be clearly seen that Ulrik kept to his right as much as he could – we imagine the insurance claim process will be a breeze now.
