A particularly bold theft attempt was captured in broad daylight in Queens, New York City.
BlackVue user Naomi shared the footage recorded on her BlackVue DR900X-2CH dashcam just a few weeks ago. In the video, her vehicle is parked near her workplace, and the dashcam is recording in Parking Mode.
A man approaches the car and, with audible force, tries to pry the glass off of the car’s side mirror. Naomi told us that it was a power fold mirror (hence the apparent difficulty the suspect had it with it) and it retailed for $575 because it was both auto-heated and dimmed. The suspect manages to take out the glass, tripping and falling down in the process.
When he realizes that the fall damaged the glass, he throws it against the wall of the nearest building.
We hope the footage (the dashcam captured the suspect scoping out the car beforehand as well) will help Naomi and her family with the insurance claim process, or even catching the culprit.
It’s definitely easier to prove what happened with such clear evidence, so don’t wait until AFTER something happens and get your BlackVue dashcam today here.
