Pulling out of a parking spot – in a parking lot, in a parking garage, but ESPECIALLY on the street – should be always done carefully.
Driver of the black sedan was pulling out of their parking spot on the side of the road. Unfortunately, there was a vehicle coming their way and the resulting head-on collision can be seen in the video.
Meanwhile BlackVue user Leslie, whose car was parked just in front of the other vehicle, was asked by the police if his dashcam was recording – and it was. All BlackVue dashcams are capable of recording in Parking Mode – in some cases a Parking Mode accessory is necessary, and the new X series dashcams have built-in voltage monitoring (native Parking Mode).
The footage was handed over and used in the case.
Note that the footage was recorded by the rear camera of the DR650S-2CH model in 720p. Our current BlackVue dual channel dashcam models, such as the DR900X-2CH and DR750X-2CH, record the rear camera footage in 1080p (fullHD).
