Good news for Thai drivers! Bangkok Post reports that you can now save on your car insurance if you have a dashcam installed in your vehicle.
According to the order signed by the secretary-general of the Office of Insurance Commission, insurance companies are required to reduce auto insurance premiums by 5-10% for customers who present photographic evidence of dashcam installation in the front of their cars.
Of course, drivers who apply for the discount should make sure the dashcam is reliable and always functional, since in case of accident the insurance company will ask for dashcam footage.
We hope more and more countries consider offering discounted insurance for dashcam owners, although it’s already common practice in the UK, Russia or South Korea.
