The first round of Formula Drift in Long Beach was a great experience for BlackVue.

In spite of the rain throughout Day 1 and the first half of Day 2, the Formula Drift fans showed their passion and came in numbers.

We want to thank all those who made this event possible.

The Formula Drift crew did a great job at helping us incorporate BlackVue Cloud into the competitors’ cars as well as around the venue.

All drivers had a BlackVue dashcam installed in their car and ten of them were MiFi-enabled, allowing fans the world over to ride along their favorite drivers thanks to BlackVue Cloud, through the BlackVue C app.

In addition, six BlackVue dashcams were installed at strategic spots around the track and venue: the “Burnout Box”, where drivers warmed up their tires doing “donut” before their run, the Judges Tower, the three turns of the track (from Toyota GP track turn 9, 10 and 11), and the Pits, live from the BlackVue booth.

For a first event and a first large-scale live experience for BlackVue Cloud, we were humbled by the fans’ response and excited to keep polishing the app further for their viewing pleasure.
