UPDATE (2018-06-14): the version released on April 12 (KST) had a brightness issue that caused the image to be too bright in daylight. The brightness issue was fixed and the firmware updated.
Note that the version is still numbered 1.007. If your front camera produces an overly bright image in daylight, you can download and install version 1.007 again to fix this issue. The version available via the BlackVue App has also been updated.
Sorry again for the inconvenience and thank you for your support and reports.
Original post:
New firmware is available for the DR750S Series dashcams.
The main addition of this firmware is the Sub-Stream technology initially developed for the DR900S Series 4K models.
Sub-Stream allows your dashcam to record low-resolution versions of the videos–optimized for preview on a mobile phone–alongside the full resolution originals.
When selecting a video when browsing your dashcam’s files via the BlackVue App, a popup will prompt you to choose the playback quality.
If you choose Quick play, you will notice a much faster loading time, no matter what Quality Setting you chose for the original video files.
MODELS CONCERNED:
- DR750S Series (DR750S-1CH, DR750S-2CH, DR750S-2CH IR and DR750S-2CH TRUCK)
WHAT’S NEW:
Version 1.007:
- Added Sub-Stream capability, which records Quick play versions of videos for fast viewing over direct Wi-Fi and Cloud connection.
- Fixed Cloud Live View errors.
- Japanese version-specific settings (New for DR750S-1CH):
- Default Time Zone: GMT+9.
- Security LED OFF.
※ Compatible software version:
BlackVue App: Android v2.73 / iOS v2.73 and up.
BlackVue Viewer: Windows v1.20 / Mac v1.21 and up.
Important:
Make sure to use the latest versions of the BlackVue Viewer and App for full compatibility when installing a new firmware version.
How to upgrade:
Go to the DOWNLOADS page to access the latest firmware and installation instructions.
You can also use the BlackVue App to download the firmware to your mobile device and do a Firmware Over-The-Air upgrade via the BLACKVUE WI-FI menu.
Tip: make sure to download the firmware before you connect to your BlackVue in Wi-Fi (since the BlackVue won’t give you the internet connection necessary to download the firmware). If you are already connected to your BlackVue, then disconnect first, download the firwmare, then connect to the BlackVue’s Wi-Fi again.
