[Firmware Update] BlackVue DR590X Series (v1.008)

New firmware is available for the DR590X Series (1CH and 2CH) dashcams.
This version brings various bug fixes and stability improvements, as well as compatibility with an upcoming USB-C power cable (coming later this year).
Note that in this case, there are two components to the update: the BlackVue firmware (version 1.008) and the MICOM firmware (version 124).
NOTE: the MICOM firmware can only be updated by copying it to the microSD card (no Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) option).

Version 1.008 (2024-06-17):

  1. Fixed a power malfunction issue occurring when booting below 10V: please ugrade the MICOM firmware (version 124) to apply this update.
  2. Bug fixes and stability improvements.

※ Compatible software versions:
BlackVue App: Android v3.56 / iOS v3.51 and up.
BlackVue Viewer: Windows v3.17 / Mac v3.17 and up.

Make sure to use the latest versions of the BlackVue Viewer and App for full compatibility when installing a new firmware version.

How to upgrade:

For this update, we recommend to:

  1. Take out the microSD card from your dash cam and back up any video you want to keep.
  2. Download both MICOM and DR590X firmware zip archives to your computer.
  3. Unzip both and copy both the BlackVue folder and AP.HEX file to your microSD card.
  4. Insert the microSD card back into your BlackVue.
  5. Power your BlackVue: both the MICOM and dash cam firmware will be upgraded.
  6. Note that the upgrade process can take five to six minutes in total.
