BlackVue dash cam captured a dangerous highway crash that turned into a hit-and-run!

Overtake attempt ends in crash

BlackVue user (who prefers to stay anonymous) sent us this footage from his dash cam. He uses an older BlackVue model (it’s fullHD successor can be found here), but it still works perfectly, as evidenced by the footage. In the video, we can see a car coming from the right, trying to ovrertake BlackVue user’s car. The driver crashed into the BlackVue user’s car and spun around before stopping. While the culprit’s car managed to get over to the side of the road, BlackVue user was busy calling the emergency services.

Hit-and-run and DUI

Then something unexpected happeed – the other driver just left the scene! According to BlackVue user, they were later reported by other drivers on the highway, as they were driving with their hood open and damaged. Finally, the police stopped then and arrested them for dangerous driving. It turned out that there were drugs and alcohol in their blood. The incident happened on Christmas Eve – the culprit spent their holidays behind the bars for DUI and leaving the site of an accident.
