Driving on a highway may give us a false sense of security – long stretches of road ahead, constant speed… But then, the best practice is to always stay cautious. You never know what awaits you.

This is not F1… or is it?

BlackVue user Chris sent us this video of his encounter on Interstate 5 through Everett, Washington. He was driving with his wife when suddenly a car came careening from the far left shoulder across every lane of traffic. The vehicle continued onto the right hand shoulder, around a car in the right lane and then back across all the lanes (at once!) to the left shoulder. Everything was captured on Chris’ 4K UHD BlackVue dashcam.

Chris told us: “Out of camera view he continued this behavior several more times, at a high rate of speed. There was at least 4 near misses that I saw and it was clear he drove like this for some distance.”

While fortunately nothing happened this time, as this example clearly shows some drivers think of highways as their personal race tracks. If they’re lucky, everything ends with near misses, but what if they run out of that luck?
