A dash cam video showing a carpool lane accident was posted to YouTube by a BlackVue user.

According to a short description left by the user, they were driving in the high-occupancy vehicle lane (also known as an HOV lane or carpool lane). They were already slowing just as the traffic was slowing down as well. Suddenly a car in front of them crossed into the HOV lane and… stopped.

“He hit me without a cause”

The crash was inevitable (the BlackVue user wad trying to brake before impact). The other driver not only crossed a solid line but, after stopping in the lane, he claimed that the BlackVue user “hit him without a cause” and even hired a lawyer!

Thankfully, there was a single-channel 4K UHD BlackVue dashcam (you can buy the DR900X-1CH Plus here) that recorded the entire incident. BlackVue user sent the BlackVue footage to his insurance company, and once the other side saw it, they admitted the other driver was 100% at fault.

The BlackVue user said: “My dashcam paid for itself that day.”
