“BlackVue C” becomes “BlackVue” with version 2.50 (iOS/Android)

In order to clarify our app lineup, we decided to change the former “BlackVue” app into “BlackVue Legacy” (iOS version 1.525, Android version 1.90) and change the Cloud-compatible “BlackVue C” into “BlackVue”. The turquoise blue icon remains unchanged. The same goes for the BlackVue Legacy app icon.
Going forward, the new “BlackVue” app will be updated regularly, while the “BlackVue Legacy” app will still be available for download, but no longer be receiving updates.

About the new BlackVue app

BlackVue is the latest companion app for your BlackVue dashcam. It works with all the Wi-Fi-compatible models and includes access to BlackVue Cloud*. Creating your BlackVue Cloud account is simple and free. After creating your account, you can register your compatible BlackVue and start setting it up to connect to a hotspot and enjoy the following features:
▶Remote Live View – Remotely monitor your car in real time.
▶Two-way Voice Communication – Talk with people in the car from your smartphone.
▶Emergency Alarm – Receive notifications on your phone when preset events occur.
▶Video Backup – Move files from your dashcam to the Cloud storage or your smartphone/tablet, right from the app.
▶GPS Tracking – Visualize on a map your car’s location and speed
▶Remote Video Playback – Play videos stored in the Cloud or in your dashcam anytime on your smartphone or tablet.

Like the BlackVue Legacy app, the new BlackVue app lets you access your dashcam’s settings, check Live View and retrieve and play videos via direct Wi-Fi connection between your phone or tablet and the BlackVue.

The main menu of the BlackVue app contains the following sub-menus:

• BLACKVUE CLOUD: create your Cloud account, register your Cloud-compatible BlackVue, check the world map and your dashcam remotely.
• BLACKVUE WI-FI: access all your dashcam’s settings and download videos from the microSD card of your BlackVue to your phone/tablet.
• INTERNAL MEMORY: this is where you can replay videos downloaded to your phone from the Cloud or via Wi-Fi, rename / manage files and folders, share videos, etc.

What’s new

As for what’s new, the version 2.50 of the BlackVue app introduces 2 major usability improvements:

1. Scroll through large lists of files quickly with the new scroll button which appears as soon as you start scrolling. It also highlights file names so you can easily spot the time of the recording.
2. Cloud connectivity alerts: turn Cloud connection notifications ON/OFF: a much required feature, since in case of spotty internet connection between the BlackVue dashcam and the Cloud, users would receive a lot of notifications (every time the dashcam would connect/disconnect from the Cloud server). Now you can choose to ignore those status changes. To access this feature, go to Account settings by tapping the icon, then tapping your account name.
3. Italian and Korean language added.
4. Other stability improvements and bug fixes.
